Look for What You Do Not See!

Look for What you Don't See

Life has taught me the importance of searching beyond what is visible—sometimes what truly matters is hidden, waiting for us to look a little deeper. It is in those moments when we open ourselves to possibility, letting our imagination shape the picture before us, that we find what is missing or what we need most.

Years ago, while walking Lombard Street in San Francisco with my wife, I was swept away by memories. The sunlit flowers and winding roadway brought back the thrill of Steve McQueen’s legendary chase in the movie “Bullitt.” For a few quiet seconds, I felt the excitement all over again—the roar of engines, the drama and heart of that scene—alive as ever in my mind.

Here in my own town, I can drive past the old house in Stuart Gardens where I lived with my young family. As I glance at the porch, I do not just see boards and windows; I see my little son and his sister playing, laughter echoing through the years, bringing joyful tears. The rent on that home was $85 a month, but the joy within those walls was priceless.

When I visit friends, whose health has faded, or whose sharp minds have dulled, I try to look past the surface. I see them as they were—joyful, vibrant, full of life and hope. And I hope, as old age comes for me, that others will remember me that way too. None of us escapes the passage of time, but the images we hold in our hearts are untouched by age.

Each evening, walking into our retirement center’s dining room, I see tables full of friends. What strikes me is not just the familiar faces, but the warmth and happiness radiating through the room. It floats around us like dandelion seeds carried by a wish—a simple reminder of how much joy fills our days when we pause to appreciate what is beyond the obvious.

“The deepest truths are not always visible; most treasures live just out of sight, waiting for us to find them. My imagination helps keep those treasures alive, enriching every day with hope and wonder. May it stay close, always within reach, for as long as I journey on.” ~ Gulzar

I simply wanted to thank you very much again. I am not sure the things I could possibly have made to happen without the type of information shown by you concerning that field. It had become a hard problem in my view, however , coming across a specialised strategy you treated that forced me to cry with contentment. I’m just happier for the advice and as well , have high hopes you comprehend what a powerful job you happen to be carrying out training most people through your webblog. Probably you’ve never met any of us.
